The Stone Line

The Stone Line was born on the Norwegian island of Giske, among the rocks marking the edge of the medieval cemetery beside Giske Middelaldereske Kirkegard chapel. On a bright sunny day, light etched the mosses and stone formations, transforming them into inner, volcanic, alien landscapes. These close-up photographs reject the scale of landscape in favor of the clue, the fragment. Dark, intricate textures emerge from a black ground, evoking arcane signs, lost inscriptions, forgotten symbols. Light is not revelation, but threshold — it questions, transforms, remains as residue.

The series explores the limits of the visible, the uncertain edge where nature and perception converge. It is also an act of listening: to time, to matter, to memory etched in stone.
