Zattere
Zattere began with a series of photographs taken during a weekend in Venice, capturing an old wooden door along the Zattere waterfront. Its peeling paint and emerging wood grain become both subject and threshold.
Through layered digital manipulation, the original image dissolves into abstract landscapes — evoking alien terrains or inner visions. The weathered surface becomes a symbolic topography: the skin of time turns into a trace of elsewhere, where the real gives way to the perceptive.
The series investigates perception as translation: familiar objects become vessels for memory, imagination, and suspended attention. The door is no longer simply an object but a liminal interface between the everyday and the spectral, the tangible and the imagined.
